Visiting your Aggie in the spring
Family Weekend is Texas A&M's spring tradition for families, and it dates back to 1919. It's a full weekend of campus events, and Corps of Cadets events throughout the weekend are open to everyone. It's also one of the busiest weekends of the spring for places to stay.
A home base for the whole family
Howdy Home sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms, with 2 full baths, so parents, siblings, and grandparents can all stay together. Your student can come over for a home-cooked meal in the full kitchen, do a load of laundry in the washer and dryer, and hang out in the fenced backyard by the fire pit.
Getting to campus
The house is about 13 minutes from the center of campus without traffic, with parking for 4 cars. Downtown Bryan is about a 10-minute walk, which makes Friday dinner easy. Our Downtown Bryan guide has places to start.
Coming for New Student Conference?
Every new Texas A&M student goes to a New Student Conference before their first semester, and parents often come along. Most conferences run 2 days, from late May through July, with a few 1-day dates in June and August. The 2027 dates aren't posted yet. Check New Aggie's conference dates page and your student's applicant portal for your date. Howdy Home works the same way for a conference trip: a quiet place to stay, about 13 minutes from campus, with room for siblings to come too.
