On the first Friday of every month, from 5 to 10 p.m., Historic Downtown Bryan turns into a free street festival with live music, art demonstrations, local vendors, and shops and restaurants open late. Main Street and Bryan Avenue close to traffic, which is one more reason to walk over from the house instead of looking for parking.

Downtown Bryan is a recognized Texas Cultural District, packed with locally owned boutiques and antique shops. Guests near the house can browse Sparrow Lane, Old Bryan Marketplace, and Texas Rose Boutique, plus spots like Brazos Glassworks and The Frame Gallery.

Where to eat and grab groceries
