Updated Oct 2, 2026
Texas A&M opened its doors on Oct 4, 1876. The university's year-long sesquicentennial ends with a Closing Festival in and around Aggie Park on Friday and Saturday, April 30 to May 1, 2027. The university says it's open to the public, with carnival rides, games, live music, food vendors and Aggie product and apparel vendors. A 150th anniversary only happens once, so expect former students from every decade to come back for it. Howdy Home is a 3-bedroom house in historic Bryan, about 13 minutes from Aggie Park.
