The Lone Star Showdown comes back to Kyle Field on Friday, Nov 27, 2026, at 6:30 PM CT, the day after Thanksgiving, on ABC. Texas A&M has billed it as a Maroon Out game. For most families this isn't a one-night trip. It's Thanksgiving dinner, the game and a lazy Saturday, so you'll want a whole house and not two hotel rooms. Howdy Home is a 3-bedroom house in historic Bryan, about 13 minutes from Kyle Field.

Your Thanksgiving-to-kickoff plan
- Wed, Nov 25 or Thu, Nov 26: Arrive. Check-in is at 4 p.m. with a keypad, so a late drive in from Houston or Dallas is fine.
- Thu, Nov 26 (Thanksgiving): Cook dinner at the house. The kitchen has a gas stove, a dishwasher and room for a crowd at the table and outside. The propane grill and pizza oven are there if someone wants to smoke a turkey or keep the kids fed.
- Fri, Nov 27 (game day): Wear maroon. A 6:30 PM kickoff means a long, slow day. Have brunch at the house, then head to campus in the afternoon. Entries open 90 minutes before kickoff, at 5:00 PM.

Getting to Kyle Field and parking
Kyle Field is about 5.5 miles from the house, roughly 13 minutes without traffic. Expect much longer on the biggest game of the season. Texas A&M's game-day guide lists pay-on-arrival public parking in limited lots across campus, plus free game-day shuttles from select lots, running from 3 hours before kickoff until 1 hour after the game. The City of Bryan also runs a free shuttle for this game from the Roy Kelly Parking Garage downtown, about an 8-minute walk from the house, to the Memorial Student Center next to Kyle Field. The house has room for 4 cars (3 in the driveway and 1 on the street), so you can leave extra cars at home and take one car or the shuttle.
Bring a clear bag. Kyle Field follows the SEC's 12-1-1 clear-bag policy and searches every bag. The free Coors Light Beer Garden on the east lawn outside Entry 8 opens 4 hours before night kickoffs.
Food and supplies nearby
Thanksgiving week is a good time to cook. The H-E-B on N. Texas Ave. is about 5 minutes from the house, and Kroger on Boonville Road is about 6, so shop early in the week before the holiday rush. Downtown Bryan is a 10-minute walk if you want to eat out on Wednesday night or Saturday. The Proudest Monkey on Main Street is an easy burger-and-taco stop, and Downtown has many locally owned restaurants and bars. Plan ahead, because some local places close or change their hours over Thanksgiving.
