Texas A&M's spring Commencement and Commissioning runs for 4 days, Wednesday through Saturday, May 12–15, 2027. It's the university's biggest graduation, and it falls at the end of Texas A&M's 150th anniversary year, so the Class of 2027 graduates at a moment the university is celebrating too. Howdy Home is a 3-bedroom house in historic Bryan where the whole family can stay together, about 14 minutes from Reed Arena.

Find your ceremony day first
With ceremonies spread over 4 days, your graduate's college decides which day you come. The registrar assigns colleges to ceremonies after the spring no-late-fee graduation application deadline (Feb 19, 2027) and posts the schedule on its graduation page. Recent ceremonies have been at Reed Arena. Until your day is set, you can book the full Wednesday-to-Saturday window and stay longer. This page will be updated once the schedule is out.
A graduation-week plan
- The day before: Spring finals run through Tuesday, May 11. Arrive the night before your ceremony and check in after 4 p.m. with the keypad.
- Ceremony day: Leave early, because guest seating is first-come, first-served. Reed Arena seats 12,989, and back-to-back ceremonies fill the parking lots.
- Before you leave town: "Here for Good: Celebrating 150 Years of Texas A&M University" is on display in the J. Wayne Stark Galleries in the Memorial Student Center through May 16, 2027, the day after the last ceremony.
- Checkout: 11 a.m., with no checkout chores.
Getting to Reed Arena
It's about 5.6 miles from the house, roughly 14 minutes without traffic. Plan on more time during graduation week. There's parking for 4 cars at the house, so relatives on different schedules don't have to share.
Celebrate at the house or in Downtown Bryan
May evenings are good for the backyard. There's a fire pit, outdoor dining, cornhole and a propane grill with a pizza oven, which gives you an easy way to feed a crowd. If you'd rather go out, Downtown Bryan's restaurants are a 10-minute walk. For party supplies, H-E-B and Kroger are each about 5 to 6 minutes away by car.
Why families pick Howdy Home
